Junior Academy launched At Wychwood Park

Wychwood Park Junior section activities started a new season in April with the launch of a new Academy. All Junior members were invited to an official launch at the club’s driving range and introduced to the aims of this new venture. All participants will receive Saturday morning coaching during the summer months with John Farmer and Frank Kiddie (initially free) including swing analysis.

They will have the opportunity to play in the South Cheshire junior league matches or friendly fixtures against the Ladies and Junior sections. (They can even Caddy if not Selected!!!)
There will be rules quizzes to take part in as well as academy clothing to purchase.

South Cheshire Junior League

Wychwood have teamed up with Chester, Carden Park, Helsby, Vale Royal Abbey and Sandbach to form the new South Cheshire Junior League. Five players will compete in each fixture with the winning team going on to a County final in October. There is also an individual Open competition organised to Chester Golf Club in August.

The club’s junior team are currently leading the South Cheshire Junior league by 3 points from Carden Park. The recently formed league is proving to be a great success as teams from Chester, Carden Park, Helsby, Vale Royal Abbey and Sandbach compete in 5 fixtures involving 5 singles match play games. In June, Wychwood hosted a very successful afternoon fixture where most of the league players struggled to come to terms with challenges of our course. The league season will come to a climax on 17th August with an Open competition for 6 players from each club at Chester and a prize presentation of the league trophy.

Wychwood Park Junior Open

 
This year’s 3rd running of the Junior Open will take place the week after the Festival Week on Monday 11th August. It is hoped that a high quality field of around fifty juniors from the local area will be attracted to our prestigious course.

Good luck to all our junior members this year in all the club and regional competition they enter and thanks in anticipation to John and Frank for their support in Junior development.
